The values shown are the (A) peak velocity and (B) amplitude of the finger (not the thumb) during the closing movement directly preceding the touch, averaged across the five movements in the sequences. We note that while relatively large increases in peak velocity are observed, the concurrent increase in amplitude leads to very small changes in the movement time.
