IFN-γ induced by the SD1 mutant. Murine ileal loops were inoculated with 10⁸ CFU of the SD1 mutant or the wild-type strain of Salmonella serovar Enteritidis. The gut loops were removed 60 min after inoculation, and the production of IFN-γ was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Data are means (five mice).
