Antifungal activity of macrophages (Mφ) from nonimmunized and immunized mice. Mice were immunized by subcutaneous inoculation of S. schenckii 30 days before the challenge. Growth of fungi in the absence of macrophages was also examined as a control. The number of viable fungi in the wells was determined after incubation for 48 h. Data are expressed as means and SD of the fold increase in the CFU in three mice.
