The domain regions are annotated with residue numbering according to the α1, β1 and γ1 isoforms of mammalian AMPK. The α-subunit consists of an N-terminal kinase domain, an autoinhibitory sequence (AIS) and a β-subunit interacting domain. The β-subunit consists of an N-terminal myristoyl group, carbohydrate binding module (CBM) and C-terminal αγ-subunit binding sequence (αγ-SBS). The γ-subunit consists of four cystathionine β-synthase (CBS) domains.
