3′ → 5′ exonucleolytic activity of Rad1-Rad10 complex. (A) Rad1-Rad10 catalyzes DNA degradation from the 3′ end. One-hundred femtomoles purified Rad1 (lane 2), Rad10 (lane 3), or Rad1-Rad10 complex (lane 4) were incubated with 3′-end-labeled DNA substrate S1 (200 fmole) for 10 min at 30°C in standard reaction buffer.
