Overview of the proposed framework for robust respiration detection from remote PPG. 1) The manually initialized bounding-box indicating the face is tracked over time and divided into equally-sized subregions. 2) The weights for each (sub)region are calculated. From this collection of weights, the best are selected based on the SNR values of the pulse signals. 3) The extracted respiratory signal is scaled based on the ratio of respiratory and pulse energies.
