(A) Early passage human fibroblasts were expanded in culture and cumulative population doublings measured until the onset of replicative senescence (Sen). (B) Lipid synthesis and SA-β-Gal were assessed in parallel for cells with different population doublings. (C) Early passage or replicative senescent cells (Sen) were evaluated by Western blot analysis for the expression of ACC1 and FAS, and compared to a loading control protein, tubulin.
