Analyzing the effects of small molecules on planktonic growth of Enterococcus faecalis. Growth of strain 29212 was assessed at 37°C with shaking in liquid TSB-glucose medium (untreated) or applied with the following: Sodium hypochlorite (0.6%), D-Leucine (2 mM), flavomycin (2 μg/ml), EDTA (0.5 mM), and 2-2′ bipyridyl (10 μg/ml). Growth was monitored by measuring OD600. Results are averages of three independent experiment performed in duplicates and their standard deviations.
