RIPK KO mutant phenotype assays. (A) Root hair phenotypic analysis of Ler, ripk-Ler, and ripk/RIPK. Root hairs of 7-d-old seedlings vertically grown on 1/2 MS were examined under a dissecting microscope. (Scale bar, 0.5 mm.) Three independent experiments were conducted, and a representative picture was shown. (B) Seeds of Col.0, fer-4, ripk-Col.0, and fer-4/ripk mutants were exposed to blue light (2.2 μmol·m2·s1) for 7 d before primary root length was measured. (C) Inhibition of root growth by LiCl. Three-day-old seedlings of Col.0, fer-4, ripk-Col.0, and fer-4/ripk mutants were transferred to 1/2 MS medium containing 12 mM LiCl. Root length was measured 4 d after transfer. In A and B, values represent averages ± SD (n = 15 seedlings). Asterisks indicate significant difference from the control as determined by one-way ANOVA (**P < 0.01). (D) A silique of self-pollinated Ler or ripk mutant. (Scale bar, 100 µm.) (E) Seed size of Ler or ripk mutant. (Scale bar, 200 µm.)
