^[a]Unless otherwise noted, reaction conditions include: substrate (0.5 mmol), 4-CH₃C₆H₄I(O₂CCF₃)₂ (0.55 mmol), Et₃N (0.125 mmol), CF₃CH₂OH, 0 °C, followed by Cu(hfacac)₂ (0.1 mmol) and Et₃N (2 mmol), 23 °C; monitored by TLC analysis until consumption of the substrate, then diaryliodonium salt.
