Eighteen-day-old Arabidopsis plants were grown at 20°C then exposed to 40°C for 0, 30, 60, 120, and 240 min for heat shock and to 5°C for 0, 6, 24, 48, 96, and 192 h. Control plants were kept at 20°C. Error bars indicate sd of the mean for three experiments.
