OATP1A2 variants differentially transport doxorubicin in vitro. Uptake of radiolabeled doxorubicin (0.2 µM) at 10 minutes in HeLa cells transfected with OATP1A2 variants was assessed relative to wild-type OATP1A2*1. Several variants, including 38T>C, 404A>T, 516A>C, and 559G>A, were associated with significantly impaired doxorubicin transport.
