Binding of AGE-HSA to the VC1-resin. Recombinant HSA obtained by incubation in the presence (HSA-R) or absence of ribose (HSA), was used as input (IN). Both samples were used in pull-down assays with the VC1-resin and the unbound fraction (UNB) and eluate (E) were analyzed by SDS-PAGE, as described in Fig. 3. The gel shows that High MW species of HSA-R are preferentially retained by the VC1-resin whereas untreated HSA (66 kDa) does not bind VC1.
