Benznidazole specifically inhibits clonogenic growth of hypoxic tumor cells. MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells (A & B) and SK-N-ER neuroblastoma cells (C & D) were incubated with 500 µM Benznidazole (BZDZ) or DMSO under aerobic (20% O2) and anoxic (0% O2) conditions, respectively. Treated cells were seeded in triplicates at 300 and 3000 cells per well, respectively, in 6-well plates for clonogenic growth. (A & C) Representative images of colonies.
