Relative number of B. burgdorferi genomes in mouse tissues as determined by qPCR. Groups of C3H/HeN mice (n = 4 per clone per time point) were injected with 5 × 106 wild-type or ΔcheY2 mutant bacteria via the intradermal dorsal or ear skin route (24 h). Mice were euthanized at the indicated time points. Mouse tissues were processed for DNA purification followed by qPCR.
