The sequences of the mature miR-101 and the 3’ untranslated region (UTR) of the SLC1A1 gene in human, rat, and mouse is shown. The mature miR-101 sequence is highly conserved between species, with only one nucleotide difference between human and rat/mouse (the nucleotide difference is underlined in the human sequence). The target site in the 3′-UTR of the SLC1A1 gene was predicted by TargetScan and shows that both the miR-101 seed region (5’-UACAGUAC-3’) and the mRNA target site are conserved between human and rat/mouse.
