Reaction of taurine, a very important organic (sulfonic) acid which is highly abundant in neutrophils, and HOCl leading to the comparably stable oxidation/chlorination product taurine chloramine, which is used as a marker for the HOCl production rate by MPO and can be easily determined by the taurine chloramine assay.
