The figures compare the complex age- and gender-dependent tsetse model to a simpler version where there has been (A) 1 year and (B) 3 years vector control with 6-monthly target replacement. In this example it is assumed that after one year of targets the population has decreased by 90%. The deposit rate of pupae in the simpler model is chosen so that the “bounce-back” dynamics of the two models are comparable.
