Figure 6. miR-26a confers Gefitinib resistance of xenograft NSCLCs.

Figure 6

Xenograft lung carcinoma was developed by s.c. challenging nude mice with SPCA1 cells. Mice then received gefitinib (25 mg/kg, daily) via oral gavage in combination with miR-26a antagomir (15 μg, twice a week) via intratumor injection (n=5). Tumor volume was monitored from the first day of gefitinib treatment A. Mice were sacrificed 30 d after the first injection of gefitinib, and tumors were dissected and weighed B., followed by sectioning and immunohistochemical staining for PTPN13 in the tumor tissues C. Data are represented as the mean ± SD (n=5). *P<0.05, ** P<0.01, vs control group. Western blot assay was used to examine the protein expression level of PTPN13 and phospho-Src in tumor samples D. Data are representative of 3 independent experiments. All the protein levels measured with densitometry and normalized to β-actin. Each bar represents the mean±SD from three experiments. **p<0.01vs control.
