Effect of DOX exposure on COX-2 and BAX/Bcl2 gene expression. Total RNA was isolated from the hearts of male or female C57Bl/6 mice collected 24 hours or 6 days after the administration of a single IP injection of 20 mg/kg DOX or saline. Gene expression of a COX-2 or b BAX/Bcl-2 was determined by real-time PCR. Results of all groups were normalized to beta-actin levels and are expressed relative to male control of the same time point.
