Controlled cortical impact induces antioxidant mechanisms and microRNA expression in ipsilateral striatum. SOD2 and UCP2 mRNA expression were determined by reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) using tubulin as a control gene. miR-21 and miR-155 mRNA expression were determined by pulsed RT-PCR using U6 as a control gene.
