The development of J8-specific antibodies in mice (n = 5/group) that were sequentially infected with homologous (NS27x4) or heterologous GAS (NS27, NS1, 88–30 and BSA10) was followed. Mice (n = 5) vaccinated with J8-DT were used as positive control. On days 6 and 21 post each infection, serum sample were collected and J8-specific IgG titers at various time-points are shown (a). On day 90 (3-weeks post last infection), mice were culled and spleen and bone marrow harvested. J8 and SpyCEP-specific antibody secreting cells in spleen (b) and bone marrow (c) were enumerated and are shown. Data are mean ± SEM.
