High and low connectivity is represented in a color scale ranging from yellow to red, respectively, where yellow denotes highly connected and red low connectivity. Within the thalamus the pallidal projection territory is located primarily in anterior and medial regions, whereas the dentate projection territory is located more laterally and posterior. The medial thalamic region and the intralaminar nuclei are overlapping zones for both territories
