The 2-deoxy-[3H] D-glucose uptake was measured in H295R cells treated for 24 hours with metformin and detected as radioactive counts per minute (CPM) on a scintillation beta counter. Data are expressed as mean ± SE of percentage increase of glucose uptake vs. control without metformin (0 mM). P values obtained by statistical analysis performed with ANOVA followed by Dunnett's post hoc test vs. control are indicated.
