A. HCT 116p53−/− and B. rpL3Δ HCT 116p53−/− cells were treated or not with 100 μM 5-FU for 24 h. After the treatment, cells were subjected to fractionation to obtain the cytosolic fraction (CF) and the mitochondrial fraction (MF). Protein extracts from the samples were analyzed by western blotting with antibodies against rpL3 and CBS. LDH and ATPase were used as controls for CF and MF, respectively. Quantification of the signals is shown. **P < 0.01 vs. rpL3 in untreated MF; ##P < 0.01 vs. CBS in untreated MF.
