Species-specific activation of α-crystallin binding activity. Binding to T4L-L99A is compared to each species expressing orthologs of αA (A), αB (B) and activated chaperones (C). Zebrafish αBa-S and rat αAins show similar binding patterns as fully activated sHSPs. Fit parameters are reported in Table 5. All binding curves were generated in pH 7.2 buffer at 37 °C with a [T4L] of 3µM.
