The scale bars in a,b indicate 100 and 10 μm, respectively. The bright area is metallic iron; a thin FeO layer formed on the surface of the iron in (a). Small black or grey dots in iron are vacant holes as clearly shown in b. Ol stands for olivine, and Px denotes pyroxene. The surrounding mixture of Mg(OD)2 and SiO2 changed into olivine and pyroxene containing Fe. The former is preferentially located close to the iron in c.
