The quantity of anti-PnPs serotype 14 antibodies in pneumococcal standard reference serum lot 89-S was determined from the mean of eight separate EIA, using the anti-PnPs serotype 6B EIA as the reference, run concurrently with anti-PnPs EIA for 12 serotypes. The values obtained by this cross-standardized method were compared to the previously assigned anti-PnPs serotype 14 values (20).
