Z 1‐Me crystallizes as an intertwined homochiral hydrogen‐bonded dimer, shown in ball‐and‐stick representation. This chiral linear tetrapyrrole arranges in a C 2‐symmetric double‐decker structure, in which the π‐stacked main bilirubin‐type chromophores (rings C and D) of both monomers are placed on top of each other (as highlighted on the right side), with their C15=C16 double bonds in close proximity.
