SDG scavenges hypochlorite ions Panel 3A shows the ClO dependent increase in APF and HPF fluorescence in PBS. Panel 3B shows scavenging of ClO by SDG. Panel 3C shows the scavenging effect (0.5 μM) of commercially available SDG (com), synthetic SDG diastereomers SDG (S,S) and SDG (R,R), and silibinin. All samples were evaluated in duplicate. The data are presented as mean + SEM. * indicates a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) as compared to untreated control.
