Ferulic acid (FA) inhibits the generation of TNF-α and IL-1β. PC12 cells were pre-incubated for 12 h with the indicated concentrations of FA and then exposed to LPS (1 μg/mL) in culture for 8 h. The levels of TNF-α (A) and IL-1β (B) in the culture supernatants were determined. LPS significantly increased the TNF-α and IL-1β levels compared with those in the control group. Pretreatment with FA significantly decreased the TNF-α and IL-1β levels compared with those in the LPS group.
