Sal improved hearing in the erl mice. (a) At 12 weeks, the vehicle-treated mice showed much higher ABR thresholds than the Sal-treated mice at 16-kHz stimuli. The colored lines and arrows represent threshold waveforms. (b) The 16-kHz-stimulated-ABR thresholds in Sal-treated mice were significantly lower than those in the DMSO and untreated mice from 4 (W) to 16 weeks. No significant difference was found between the untreated and DMSO groups. (c) The DPOAE amplitudes in the Sal-treated mice were much higher than in the untreated and DMSO-treated mice at 12 weeks.
