Paternal deprivation affects adult affiliation, but not recognition. (A) Paternally deprived subjects reared with a mother only (MO) spent more time in side by side contact with a conspecific during the social affiliation test (SA) than subjects that were reared by a mother and father (MF). No differences were found in side by side contact frequency (B). There were no group differences in the social recognition test (SR) including in sniffing duration (C) and frequency (D).
