Overexpression of BnSIP1-1 in transgenic B. napus plants enhanced resistance to osmotic stress. (A) Relative gene expression of BnSIP1-1 in the leaves of 2-month-old wild-type and T0 35S:BnSIP1-1 transgenic plants by QPCR. Standard errors were derived from three repeated experiments for the expression levels of each transgenic line. (B) Fifteen-day-old seedlings were transferred to 1/2 MS medium supplemented with or without 600 mM mannitol for 6 h before the images shown were taken. (C) Fifteen-day-old seedlings were transferred to 1/2 MS medium supplemented with or without 300 mM mannitol for 9 days before the images shown were taken. (D) Total chlorophyll contents of the 300 mM mannitol-treated or untreated leaves from (C). FW, fresh weight. Values are mean ± SD (n = 3). Means denoted by the same letter did not differ significantly at P < 0.05.
