Fig. 4 — Effects of CMT on β-endorphin concentration. Neonates in the experimental group had higher serum β-endorphin levels than those in the control group both at the beginning of hospitalization (1.64 ± 0.39 vs 1.18 ± 0.09, respectively; **P < 0.05) and 2 weeks later (2.29 ± 0.74 vs 1.39 ± 0.41, respectively; **P < 0.05). The β-endorphin concentration increased significantly in the experimental group after 2 weeks, but not in the control group
