Imidazole inhibits the rate of Hg²⁺‐induced chymotrypsin aggregation. Data were fit to Eq. (3). Parameters for the fitted curve are: k _fast,0 = 13.1 ± 0.8 µM min⁻¹, and IC ₅₀ = 78 ± 21 µM; R ² = 0.94. [chymotrypsin] = 20 µM, 50 mM MOPS at pH 7.23, [Hg²⁺] = 1.025 mM. Uncertainties in the first order fitted values of k _fast are smaller than the point symbols.
