Confocal microscopy of S. aureus RN6390(pAH16) and QT7(pAH16) after 2 h of internalization following a 30-min treatment with lysostaphin and gentamicin in DMEM. A549 lung epithelial cells were stained with FM4-64 (red). The bacteria expressed YFP and were viewed as green fluorescence. Colocalization of S. aureus and A549 was viewed as yellow fluorescence.
