Adjusted OR of soil heavy metals in fatty liver disease by both gender and body mass index (BMI). When we further divided subjects by gender and BMI, the data suggested that exposure to high levels of heavy metals increased the severity of fatty liver disease only in lean males, with adjusted OR up to 5.059 (95% CI 1.628 to 15.728; p<0.05).
