The 1.5 Kb DNA fragments corresponding to the 5′ -regulatory regions upstream of the ORF (Open Reading Frame) transcription start sites of TdWRKY genes were subjected to an in silico analysis using a PLACE signal scan and NSITE-PL to search for putative cis-regulatory motifs potentially involved in the control of TdWRKYgenes expression. R, A/G; Y, C/T; K, G/T; N, any nucleotide. Frequencies of potential binding sites in AtWRKY promoters were derived from the study of Dong et al., 2003.
