FITC-labelled S. aureus or P. aeruginosa were incubated with scalpel wounded rabbit (a) and human (b) corneas for 24 and 48 h, washed and imaged using a fluorescent microscope. Unlabelled C. albicans and F. solani were incubated with rabbit and human corneas for 24 and 48 h, washed, the model stained with Calcofluor White and imaged using a fluorescent microscope.
