Proposed interplay of graft structure-function and antigenicity towards success of xenogeneic scaffold following implantation. In xenogeneic scaffold generation, antigenicity must be addressed to avoid negative graft-specific innate and adaptive immune responses, such as those observed with opt SARB scaffolds. However, scaffold structure-function properties must be maintained with processing to ensure the graft avoids negative remodeling responses, such as those observed with SDS scaffolds. By finding the balance between these properties, the resultant graft may facilitate positive regeneration.
