p40 MET expression induces apoptosis of embryonic cortical neurons. After dissociation, mouse embryonic cortical neurons were electroporated with either empty vector or wild-type (p40 Met) or kinase-dead (p40 Met KD) p40 MET. Thirty-six hours after transfection, TUNEL staining was performed and nuclei were detected using DAPI staining. Percentages of TUNEL-positive cells over the total number of cells were determined (n = 3; plus standard deviation). Representative DAPI and TUNEL staining is shown.
