C. trachomatis EBs do not colocalize with caveolin or GM1. HeLa cells were infected with the indicated serovars for 1 h and then fixed and stained with antibodies to MOMP (green) and to caveolin (red [A]) or with fluorescent-conjugated CTxβ (red [B]). The samples were examined by laser scanning confocal microscopy using a 60× high numerical aperture oil immersion objective on a Zeiss LSM2 microscope.
