Aggregation of B. bronchiseptica by SP-A. Bacteria were suspended to an OD₆₀₀ of 0.6 in SS salts. Bacteria alone or bacteria with purified human SP-A (10 μg/ml) were incubated at 37°C, shaking for 3 h. Values are reported as a percentage of the starting OD₆₀₀ and bars represent means ± standard errors of the means. Only the Wlb strain showed a statistically significant (P ≤ 0.05) difference by Student's t test from the no SP-A control.
