Administration of IFN-γ to post-CLP mice attenuated elevated IL-10 production and increased serum concentrations of IL-12 and TNF-α after P. aeruginosa challenge. Mice were subjected to either CLP or sham surgery. Five days later, the mice were given intravenous injections of saline or 5 × 107 CFU of P. aeruginosa and were sacrificed 6 h later for collection of blood samples. Plasma cytokine concentrations were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
