Both heterozygous and homozygous losses of β-catenin have no effect on adherens junctions in NIC tumors. (A) IHF staining for E-cadehrin and plakoglobin showed that β-catenin deficiency had no impact on adherens junctions. E-cadehrin and plakoglobin colocalize at the plasma membrane. Ctnnb1+/+NIC, n = 5; Ctnnb1fl/+NIC, n = 5; Ctnnb1fl/flNIC, n = 5. (Scale bar: 20 μm.) (B) Tumor lysate was subjected to immunoblot analysis for components of adherens junctions.
