Upregulation of NOX4 and its functional partner p22^phox in A459 cells in suspension culture. (A) A549 cells were grown in attached or suspended conditions for 24 h and total RNA was extracted and processed for microarray analysis as described in the ‘Materials and Methods'. (B–D) A549 cells were grown in attached or suspended conditions for indicated times followed by total mRNA extraction and cell lysate preparation. The expression levels of NOX4, p22^phox, NOX5, and NOX2 were determined by RT-PCR or by immunoblotting using the indicated antibodies. The experiments were performed three times with similar results.
