Astrocytes were treated with ESP alone or pre-treated with a recombinant Sonic hedgehog peptide from mouse (Shh) (3 μg) or cyclopamine (20 μM) for 2 h and then treated with 500 μg/ml ESP for 4 h. Antioxidant capacity was then detected using the total antioxidant capacity (TAC) colorimetric assay kit. Data are expressed as the means ± SD from three independent experiments (*P < 0.05).
