Influence of heat on photocatalyst-induced DNA damage. Plasmid pBlueScript II SK+ DNA was transformed to Escherichia coli (E. coli) competent cells after photocatalysis environments set to 4 °C and 25 °C. The level of DNA damage involving ultraviolet (UV)- and heat-induced nanoscale-TiO2 film-mediated photocatalysis was indicated by the reduction of transformants. * p < 0.05 vs. 4 °C group. n = 6, three experiments with two replicates.
