The genetic absence of both caspase-1 and caspase-11 completely abrogated the release of IL-1α from lung TAMs after LPS stimulation (A). Caspase-11 ko lung TAMs released significantly reduced levels of IL-1α when LPS was added (B). The inhibition of calpain system by means of MDL 28170 did not reduce IL-1α release after LPS administration (C). The administration of Necrostatin-1 did not alter LPS-induced IL-1α release from lung TAMs (D). Data represent means ± SEM, (n = 12).
